I’m very grateful to the smiling Virgin Atlantic check-in guy who turned a blind eye to my 26 kg suitcase ahead of my flight to Barbados this morning. As a male-of-the-species, I obviously pride myself on travelling light and usually blame any excess weight on Lisa’s shoes, hairdryer and make-up.
This morning I travelled alone so only had one thing to blame: a Sony NS410 Wireless Speaker, weighing in at over 5 kg. We wanted to provide an improved sound system for our Mullins Bay apartment and taking my research seriously, I carefully checked all of the reviews and specifications before ordering. All except for the weight of course.
I’m no technical expert but based on this one-off test there appears to be a good correlation between weight and sound quality. For the best sounds ‘buy heavy’ is my recommendation!
So Ocean View is now wired for sound – or un-wired. The system can be controlled wirelessly using Apple’s built-in AirPlay if you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. If not, you can connect your non-Apple device by using Sony’s Network Audio Remote.
If you are renting the apartment soon, I hope you enjoy. In the meantime, now playing at Ocean View, Beacon Hill: Bob Marley, Three Little Birds (Don’t Worry About a Thing..)
